Keyword Combiner & Cleaner

· Free browser tool

A keyword combiner takes separate word lists — modifiers, core terms, and product or location words — and multiplies them into every ordered combination, turning a few dozen words into a structured keyword list in seconds. The built-in cleaner then strips the noise that breaks a campaign upload: stray duplicates, inconsistent casing, double spaces, and punctuation that match-type syntax cannot tolerate.

This tool does both in one place, free, and runs entirely in your browser. Paste your lists, pick the match formats you need, and copy or download a ready-to-use file. Nothing is sent to a server, so even unreleased product names and client keyword sets stay on your machine.

Paste one term per line in each list. The tool builds every ordered combination — each List A item, then each List B item, then each List C item, joined with a space. Empty lists are skipped.

How to use the keyword combiner & cleaner

Switch between the two modes with the tabs. Combine multiplies lists into a cartesian product; Clean normalises a single pasted list. Both feed the same match-type formatter and the same copy and download buttons.

Combine up to three lists into a cartesian product

Put your modifiers in List A, your core terms in List B, and an optional qualifier like product type or city in List C, one term per line. The tool joins each A item with each B item with each C item, in that order, separated by a single space, producing the full cartesian product. Three lists of ten terms yield a thousand phrases, so the count rises fast. Leave a list empty to skip it entirely, and watch the live total so you can tighten the inputs before exporting a list that is larger than the campaign actually needs.

Clean a raw list to dedupe, lowercase, and normalise spacing

Switch to the Clean tab and paste an exported or scraped keyword list. The cleaner trims leading and trailing whitespace, collapses repeated inner spaces to one, lowercases every line, and removes exact duplicates so identical phrases do not inflate bids or reports. Two optional toggles go further: strip special characters removes punctuation and symbols that match-type brackets cannot contain, and sort A–Z orders the output alphabetically for easier scanning. Each toggle updates the result instantly, so you can preview the effect before committing to a download.

Format output for exact, phrase, broad, and modified match

The match-type checkboxes wrap every generated keyword in the syntax each platform expects. Plain leaves the bare phrase, Exact wraps it in square brackets, Phrase wraps it in quotation marks, and Modified prefixes a plus sign to each word for modified broad match. Tick more than one and the tool outputs every selected format for every keyword, multiplying the list accordingly. The live counter shows exactly how many lines you are about to export, so a three-format run on a large product makes its size obvious before you paste it into an ad platform.

Keyword combiner & cleaner frequently asked questions

Q1What does a keyword combiner actually do?

It takes separate word lists and produces every ordered combination of them. With modifiers in one list and core terms in another, it pairs each modifier with each core term, joined by a space. Adding a third list multiplies the result again. This turns a handful of words into a comprehensive long-tail keyword set far faster than typing every permutation by hand, which is why it is a staple of PPC and content keyword research.

Q2How many keyword combinations can it generate?

The combine mode is capped at 50,000 base combinations to keep your browser responsive and the output usable. If your lists would produce more, the tool shows a notice with the true total and stops there so the page does not freeze. In practice, two or three lists of ten to thirty terms each give a focused set; reaching the cap usually signals that the input lists need trimming before export.

Q3What is the difference between the match-type formats?

Plain outputs the bare keyword. Exact wraps it in square brackets for exact match, phrase wraps it in quotation marks for phrase match, and modified prefixes a plus sign to each word for modified broad match. Selecting several formats outputs each keyword in every chosen style, so one base phrase can appear as a plain, bracketed, and quoted line ready to paste into the relevant ad platform.

Q4Does this keyword tool send my lists to a server?

No. Every combination and cleaning step runs in your browser with client-side JavaScript. Nothing you paste into the lists or the cleaner is uploaded, logged, or stored anywhere, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. That makes it safe for confidential product names, unreleased campaigns, and client keyword sets you cannot share with a third-party service.

Q5Why clean a keyword list before uploading it?

Raw lists from exports, scrapes, or spreadsheets carry duplicates, mixed casing, double spaces, and punctuation. Duplicates inflate bids and distort reporting, inconsistent casing fragments your data, and stray symbols can break match-type syntax. Cleaning normalises everything to one canonical form first, so the keywords you upload behave predictably and your account stays tidy from the start rather than needing fixes later.
